My Whole Life Has Been a Lie

It’s been two years and I’m happy to report nothing has changed.

Well, except for having a full-time job, a ton of new stories to tell and a lot less brain cells.

I still go to Wing Night, pretty much every Tuesday night…
the 6:30 – 8:30 pm drive from Philadelphia to Avalon on Tuesday nights is filled with my thoughts of drunken debauchery anticipation,
the 6:30 – 8:30 am drive from Avalon to Philadelphia on Wednesday mornings is filled my thoughts of drunken debauchery reflection; what was said, what was done, what we drank, etc…

So, last night I arrive via bike ( thanks for the new bike rack Windrift ) and witness a friend sitting on the grass holding his arm and cursing the bar.

He got kicked out for offending a waitress or something, banned for summer, a typical scene; worthy of police attention, no doubt.

“Hi Avalon cops, why are you acting so hardass for no reason, whatever, I’m going in.”

I leave my friend and head into Wing Night, cup in hand. Say hi to the friends, get a pitcher and drink drink drink.

Shot time. Okay, lets take some tequila shots… “Two tequila shots and another pitcher bartender.”

“Do you want Cafe Patron Shots, they’re on special for $5.”

WHAT????? My whole life has been a lie!!!

All of these years I’ve been thinking guys were cordial enough to buy Cafe Patron shots because of their tasty tequila and coffee flavor and their high quality… for the high quality gal that I am of course.
Nope, erroneous. Turns out, I am only deserving of the $5 special.

What will I discover next week Wing Night.. your wings aren’t even real meat???

The Dumbest Things Make Us Happy

It’s Wednesday, which could only mean one thing- I’m hungover. Why am I hungover every Wednesday? Two words : Wing Night. There’s no competition for the best bar to go to on a Tuesday night in Avalon; The Windrift wins the prize. The appeal of The Windrift – cheap wings, miller lite, and a cool cup for a $5 cover. Juliet and I have been collecting cups from Wing Night all summer ( somehow they get lost in late night activity or we forget to bring them home ) but nevertheless we have quite a collection.

So, last weekend a friend of ours, Rob, informs us that if you bring your Wing Night cup to Wing Night it’s a $3 cover instead of the $5 cover one would pay to get a new cup. What a revelation!! Not really, but apparently Juliet and I thought it was the best thing that happened to us; especially at 2 am in a public bathroom.
